Dead Computer

My computer won’t turn on it’s as dead as a DODO, I keep wondering into my little bedroom that I use as an office and there it is, very sad.
I have had to do housework which for me is something I only do when needed. I don’t think the place looks any better, just have my piles of things in totally different places that will be good when I have misplaced something very important.
I realise that I have several piles of paperwork, mine to be sorted and filed away. Mums for my daughter to sort out when she gets home, family tree stuff and finally Parkinson’s paperwork from our local support group.
Now as I am not red hot at looking after my own stuff it will take a miracle to sort out all the piles, not only that there are things that don’t want to go into any of my four piles and I am reluctant to start another one.
My late husband used to say that when I tidied up all I did was make a couple of extra piles, well I’m trying Jim honest.
It would have been his birthday on the 9th I can’t believe I have been without him for nearly eleven years.
I have a photo on the side of Jim and my Dad; it’s a really good one of them both, well its gone skew whiff in the frame. Spooky or what ???????????????
Back to the subject I started with, my sick computer. For once in my life I have taken out one of those service plans so fingers crossed a man who can will come and mend it tomorrow.
That’s what started the cleaning, I had to make sure the poor person who has to go into my office doesn’t get lost and not be able to find their way out. Maybe I have that wrong it would be good to have an engineer trapped, just look at all the things I could get mended.

Back to Requip

I can’t believe how much better I feel and obviously look from the comments I have been getting.
I had started to worry that I was going downhill but it looks like the different brand of drugs that the chemist had given me was the culprit.
A while ago I had to change doctors and because of location it seemed easier to change chemist, when I was given a different brand of my slow release morning pills I didn’t think much about it. Daft as it may seem I never queried it, I found it a bit disconcerting that the tablets themselves had nothing on them to mark what strength they are only the fact that different strength were slightly different colours. As I take an assortment to get the right strength this can be a bit off putting.
Last month I went to collect my prescription and on returning home found I had two boxes of one strength and none of one of the others, this meant a journey back to exchange. I was given no apology, I asked for my repeat back which made them aware that I wasn’t very happy.
This month I have found a new chemist and asked if I can go back to my Requip, well I may have called it in the past and I am still hoping to reduce it in the future, but boy I am happy to be back. So perhaps it was fortuitous that the pharmacist plus his checker made such a mess.
I am so paranoid about my drugs since one of our local chemists gave me a blood pressure pill instead of the anti-sickness one I was on at the time, I was on two three times a day, what would have happened if I had not noticed the pills had the days of the week on them. It still makes me shudder to think about it.
I do think a tighter watch should be taken as I have seen different brands being put together in one prescription. I was on the homecare for sixteen years and have seen how confusing it is for not only the elderly but those with poor eyesight.
Well that’s my moaning done I promise my next blog will be the old me, the one that is the life and sole of the party, the one who likes to laugh at everything that’s thrown at her. But boy sometimes it’s hard to find her.

Thank you Parky

Today I had a couple of my Jabs for Peru, in fact one in each arm, and you know what I am feeling fine.
I have been given conflicting information about what I need so I am going for everything to make sure I won’t be turned away from any of the places I want to visit.
I THINK I AM GETTING A TAD EXCITED.
I have been on the Just You web site to see what previous travelers have to say, information straight from the horse’s mouth.
My friend has two pairs of my trousers to shorten ready for the trip they are ones that are supposed to ward off insects, I will let you know how I fare when I get back, and the Parkinson nurse I spoke to at Parkinson’s UK told me she swore by Garlic.
As I have already been bit twice in the last few weeks I will take all the advice that I am given. I know I used to give my dog garlic tablets to ward off flees, so if it worked for him then with a lot of luck (fingers crossed plus legs and arms) it just has to work for me.
By the time I go I will have to take a large enough case to fit all my medication in. Parky it’s your fault, without you I wouldn’t need all these potions, but then again would I be going?????????????????
Having a mate like mine has made me do things now that at one time I would have put on the back boiler for a later day. So perhaps I should thank my mate Parky for the traveling I’m doing.

Sleeping for England

I don’t know why but I have spent the day going from one nap to another.
I have had a couple of late nights so wasn’t amazed that it was 10-30 when I woke up this morning, I just reasoned with myself that if the clocks had not gone forward last weekend it would only have been 9-30.
Today I have done some washing then had a sleep in the chair; done a bit more washing had another sleep in the chair, made myself something to eat then after eating had another sleep in the chair.
Now my day seems to have gone and all I have to show for it is a few bits of washing on the line.
While I was away I got bitten by some sort of insect and had the usual reaction for me a red hot itchy swollen arm. If I had had some antihistamines with me at the time I could have stopped it in its tracks.
Well I say I could I am now a bit dubious as a couple of weeks ago I awoke to find a bite and did a daft thing I took the antihistamine at the same time as my Parky drugs. Boy was that a mistake I sat having breakfast and began to feel a bit strange wasn’t sure if I was going to pass out or be sick. So now have a little niggle about my trip to Peru.
I had better take some drastic steps so that I don’t get bitten. I have seen bands that you wear on your wrists or ankles, I am thinking of four one on each extremity I wonder if you can get one for round your neck?
Back to my holiday bite, as I did not get the single room I was expecting and then having to share what was technically a box made it very difficult when I woke up scratching.
I ended up getting some cloths on and getting out intending to go for a walk, it was bloody freezing so I ended up in reception, the cold must have done the trick and stopped me scratching.
Perhaps today is a day of catching up with all the sleep I lost while I scratched my night away

Am I a Bad Risk

I am at a holiday camp with two coach loads from my area, must have emptied the place.
Yesterday I met up with a gentleman from my past to lay ghosts. Is it me, Parky or my drugs that makes me such a bad risk as a lover. I can blame the other person but I must accept that I have rushed in head first then as soon as love is mentioned gone the other way.
Has my addictive nature affected my chance of finding or indeed being a good partner.
How many lives have I messed with?
All i can say is sorry and I hope for a little forgiveness

My Baby is 40

That sure makes me stop and wonder where life is taking me. I can’t believe I am old enough to have a daughter that has reached the grand age of 40, not only that but she has a sister older than her. I must have been a child bride.
She her Partner and her daughter have gone off to New York for a few days, leaving me in charge of the dog. He is part lab part retriever and part loopy. Well reading that I expect we make a great pair.
I have opted to stay at their house instead of taking him to mine, he is better in his own home he tends to get very stressed when anyone leaves. So to keep my sanity and his I am typing this at my daughters.
Well K you will be pleased to know I am slowly ploughing my way through the laundry, a small present on your return will be fine, and diamonds are very small.
This morning I was awoken very early in fact so early that it didn’t quite sink in, to the sound of music playing.  I believe it was the local radio station, the alarm clock is now unplugged so that it can’t happen in the morning.
Now waiting for little granddaughter who is being delivered by her other grandparents, then off to my house to check post back to pick up grandson from school deliver back to said grandparents. Out for a curry, then bingo, not forgetting the dog. How easy is being retired.

Inoculations

I now have a stiff arm and it’s not Parkys fault, I have had the first of the injections that I need for Peru.

I go at the end of May, it hasn’t felt reel but as the money wants paying soon and the jabs have started I will have to get myself organised.

For a long time there have been two things on my wish list, the first being China which I did last year the second being Peru which I will soon be doing.

Now I shall have to have a new wish list only one that is not quite so expensive. I am starting to get excited so I expect I will be boring for Britain once again.

China was amazing and every bit as good as I had hoped for, probably even belter.  From what I have heard Peru will be equally as good.

I go on the Amazon as an extra add on so I expect that means malaria tablets, I hope they go with Parky drugs. It always gives me a bit of a niggle when I have to take anything else as I would hate to upset my mate.

I will have to find out what cloths I will need; this time I am going to make sure I have a few extra cloths as last time I had gone as light as I could not the best of ideas for a female.

While I was on the Yangzi I thought I would wash out some nicks, after washing them I put them in a towel which I twisted to get as much water out as possible. I left them in the towel while I went and did something else. When I went back to my cabin it suddenly dawned on me that my towels had been changed and my nickers gone.

Now you try explaining to someone who doesn’t speak your language what has happened, it was like something out of a farce. A very nice Chinese lady that was on the boat helped me, to the extent that as I was walking towards my cabin one of the girls that looked after the cabins shouted me and waved my undies in the air, good job they were clean.
